music for the soul, art for the spirit

Felix Justen, born in 1955 in Nassau an der Lahn (Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany), is a multi-talented artist with an impressive range of accomplishments. He studied classical guitar at Dr. Hoch's Conservatory and the Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt, later completing advanced training in rhythmic studies under Professor Amelie Höllering in Munich.

Not only a gifted musician, Justen is also a skilled painter. From an early age, he experimented with pencil, charcoal, and chalk on paper. Today, he favors graffiti, palette knife paintings, oil and acrylic on canvas, often employing mixed-media techniques combined with metal leaf. His large-format works captivate audiences with their depth and mesmerizing interplay of light.

Annette Schneider, a former curator at the Bremer Kunsthalle, discovered Justen's artistic potential and supported his first exhibition. His paintings often depict enigmatic landscapes and natural phenomena, with recurring motifs of water, waves, cloud formations, and restless journeys to seemingly unattainable destinations.

In the music world, Justen has made a name for himself as both a composer and performer. He has toured regionally and internationally, gracing the stages of prestigious concert halls. His collaborations with soprano Elizabeth Parcells have taken him to Rome, Paris, the Rheingau Music Festival, and Carnegie Hall in New York. A live concert on Boston National Radio and CD production for the Koch-Schwann label further enrich his musical experience.

For several years, Justen has also been performing with the German-Persian soul singer Kaye Ree. Together, they have produced two CDs, "Endless Melody" and "New Air," and have embarked on concert tours in cities such as Hamburg, London, Paris, Milan, Atlanta, and New York.

Apart from his artistic pursuits, Felix Justen is an inventor, vintner, chef, and tomato cultivator. Among his inventions is the popular guitar support "Guitarlift," which has garnered widespread acclaim in the music community. His diverse talents and accomplishments make him a truly remarkable and versatile artist.
